Psychotherapy (also known as 'talk therapy') is a collaborative treatment intended to help people improve their mental health and well-being. It is based upon a safe, nonjudgemental relationship between an individual and therapist and uses scientifically-validated methods to help people make meaningful life changes and develop effective habits. Therapy aims to teach new skills sets so that you can better cope with whatever challenges arise in the future.

Chelsea is a Registered Psychotherapist who enjoys working with school-aged children, teens and adults to help build healthy relationships and minds. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes warmth, inclusivity and acceptance. Her eclectic therapeutic style includes multiple evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Chelsea’s practice is trauma-informed and incorporates aspects from positive psychology, self-compassion, attachment theory, and mindfulness. She is passionate about working with children and parents to foster emotional resilience, communication skills, and adaptive coping skills.

Chelsea has worked for several years in both private practice and academic settings. Her aim is to create a safe, comfortable, and non-judgemental space where the client can feel validated and empowered to bring about meaningful life changes.

In addition to psychotherapy, Chelsea also provides comprehensive psychological and psycho-educational assessments under supervision of a Clinical Psychologist upon request.

Chelsea holds a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carleton University.
